BRAINTEASER is a data science project that seeks to exploit the value of big data, including those related to health, lifestyle habits, and environment, to support patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis and their clinicians. Taking advantage of cost-efficient sensors and apps, BRAINTEASER will integrate large, clinical datasets that host both patient-generated and environmental data.
The data collected will help develop artificial intelligence tools that shed light on disease mechanisms, promote early detection and prevent the onset of patient complications. The creation of such tools will respond to current needs for precision medicine.
Technical solutions developed by BRAINTEASER will follow agile and user-centred approaches, accounting for the functional, medical, psychological, and societal needs of specific users.
Help foster predictive healthcare approaches and support clinicians, so patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and multiple sclerosis experience healthier and more fulfilling lives
Leverage artificial intelligence to enhance clinical care and help design personalised health and care pathways
Adopt an open-science paradigm that makes scientific research results accessible, respect patient data confidentiality and ownership, and involve end users in the IT solution co-design to meet real needs constantly
